As wildlife biology majors, my partner, Conrad, and I created this infographic to get people informed about a HUGE problem currently endangering bat species across the United States. It's issues like these that reinforce the importance of living mindfully and sustainably. White-nose syndrome (WNS) is a human-introduced invasive fungus. Likely brought over from Europe in 2006, this disease has a 90% - 100% mortality rate when introduced to bat hibernacula. "WNS has killed more the 5.7 MILLION bats in eastern North America..."and has been rapidly spreading since it's introduction. This invasive fungus is a MAJOR threat to several bat species inhabiting the Western United States. These fuzzy little guys need us now more than ever!! Learn more about what WNS is at www.whitenosesyndrome.org and use this quick guide to find out what you can do to help. Share this to help get the word out about WNS and inform others about how they make a difference! tread lightly. live fully.
